Man City have not made a bid for midfielder Enzo Fernandez, missing Chelsea’s 5pm Friday deadline; Chelsea now expect Fernandez to be with them for the entire 2026/27 season; Blues value Fernandez at £120m

Michael Bridge and Vinny O’Connor discuss why Enzo Fernandez could still join Man City despite the club not sending a bid to Chelsea by the 5pm deadline on Friday

The 5pm Friday deadline set by Chelsea for Man City to make their bid for Enzo Fernandez has passed with no offer made for the midfielder.

It is now expected Fernandez – who is valued at £120m by Chelsea – will stay at Stamford Bridge for the 2026/27 season.

It is also understood the verbal acceptable terms and conditions that were made to Fernandez’s representatives for potential interested clubs at the end of May are now off the table.

City are interested in the midfielder, who shared a strong relationship with Enzo Maresca when he was Chelsea boss.

The 25-year-old has six years left on his contract
